Brother's Latex Wide-Format Printer Chosen to Make Prints for Kunio Okawara's Exhibition

Brother Industries, Ltd. (President: Ichiro Sasaki) today announced that the WF1-L640 Latex Wide-format Printer^*1 was chosen to make the prints displayed at an exhibition of renowned mechanical designer Kunio Okawara held currently in Hong Kong, as part of its ongoing efforts to launch the model in the market.

WF1-L640 was chosen to and is being used to make the prints of the original artwork displayed at the exhibition of Kunio Okawara, "Mechanical Designer Kunio Okawara's 50th Anniversary Exhibition" held currently in Hong Kong. Kunio Okawara is known as a pioneer of Japanese mechanical design and is best known for his designs of the mobile suits that appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam. Because it is difficult to transport valuable original artwork overseas for an exhibition, original artwork is often reprinted at event sites. The WF1-L640 was chosen by the exhibition organizers for its high printing quality and ability to accurately recreate the original artwork, and will be used to make the prints on-site.

The WF1-L640 is a new product developed by Brother for sign and display applications such as outdoor advertising, various posters, interior decorations, etc., leveraging the technology it has cultivated through the development of products such as garment printers that can print on fabric. The latex ink developed by Brother, which is used in this model, achieves a wide range of colors and rich expressiveness while providing high weather resistance for outdoor advertisements, among other applications, and is water-based, making it environmentally friendly and safe for use in restaurants, educational institutions, medical institutions, and other facilities.

Through this exhibition, Brother intends to bring the appeal of the WF1-L640 to an even wider audience.
As part of this effort, Brother exhibited at the Future GPX Cyber Formula World Tour Exhibition Nagoya GP^*2 in March, and plans to exhibit at FESPA, an exhibition for the screen printing and digital printing industries scheduled to be held in Munich, Germany, in May.
Brother will continue to increase awareness of its products by using various opportunities and aims to introduce them to the market while promoting communication with customers.
