Brother Signed the Agreement to Join the UN Global Compact

Brother Industries, Ltd. (President: Ichiro Sasaki) announced that the company had signed the agreement to participate in the United Nations Global Compact, an initiative advocated by the United Nations.
The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative in which respective businesses and organizations act as moral corporate citizens and join the global framework to actualize sustainable development by demonstrating responsible and innovative leadership practices.
By pursuing business growth and fulfilling social responsibilities described in the Brother Global Charter which is the basis of all our activities, the Brother Group has been building long-lasting relationships based on trust with all its stakeholders while placing utmost priority on customers.
In order to contribute to achievement of the 17 goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations, the group will create social values through its business activities as a manufacturer globally and promote management practice focused on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors.
By signing the agreement to partake in the UN Global Compact, the Brother Group will comply with the 10 principles below, and contribute to sustainable development of society further, while all respective group employees stay aware of social issues.

Environment | Principle 7: | Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges; |
Principle 8: | undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and | |
Principle 9: | encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies. | |
Anti-corruption | Principle 10: | Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery. |
